Data in Depth

If you want to better understand your impact, ensure you are making high-quality decisions, or want to make a compelling case to funders, you need data. If you’re just starting to collect, analyze, and report data, or you’re already doing these things and want to improve your skills, this 3-part workshop series will give you some useful knowledge.

In Data in Depth you will learn:

  • Methods of data collection and how to decide which ones to use for your purposes.

  • Analytical techniques you can use to explore your data, and principles to help you decide what kind of analysis is appropriate.

  • How to convey the findings of your data project, and factors to consider in your communications plan.

This workshop gives you ways to improve your skills to implement your data projects, while also helping you to think about some of the principles and ethical considerations you might face.

Learning how to plan for data collection and different methods of collection were incredibly helpful. Since the training, I have been able to plan out future data projects, taking into account who the stakeholders are and what impact we are looking to measure. I have also applied the use of pivot tables to compare results across program years and understand how our programs have grown and changed with time. I would recommend this program to anyone who works with data but does not consider themselves a ‘data person.’
