Parent Perspective

The Parent Report consists of data from the National Survey on Children’s Health (NSCH). Parents or caregivers respond to this survey every year. In Connecticut, an average of 500 parents respond to the NSCH questions about one of their children yearly.

The NSCH contains seven PCE indicators related to the presence of caring adults in the life of children, community connectedness, and family resilience.

There are a total of seven PCEs that can be reported by parents, with categories such as Family Resilience and After School Activities. There are four PCEs in the Family Resilience category and three PCEs in the After School Activities category.
