CT RAPID Survey 2: Developmental Screening & Parenting Supports
This statewide survey of more than 2,000 parents with young children asked about developmental screening, connection to services, and parenting supports. The results provide insights into areas of strength as well as inequities and gaps that should be addressed with policies and programs that are responsive to families’ and children’s needs.
This project lifts up the voices of parents of young children across Connecticut to inform programs and policies that are responsive to their needs. Findings are currently available for:
Child Care Affordability Analysis
This analysis uses public data to explore the percentage of families in Connecticut that could spend no more than 7% of their household income to pay the market rate to enroll all of their young children in full-time, year-round care in a child care center.
Connecticut Head Start Programs Analysis
Head Start encompasses Head Start preschool programs, which primarily serve 3- and 4-year-old children, and Early Head Start programs which serve infants, toddlers, and pregnant women. Services are provided in public schools, child care centers, family child care homes, or in the family's own home through a home visiting model.
Connecticut Head Start Needs Assessment
Needs assessment of all Head Start agencies in Connecticut, conducted in 2023 for the Connecticut Head Start Collaboration Office (HSCO).
